Georgia Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) received a crucial endorsement from the pro-life movement, adding to the GOP incumbent’s list of supportive groups in her high-profile re-election contest. The National Right to Life (NRLC) is the pro-life movement’s oldest organization; with state and local affiliates in every state, NRLC is known as the pro-life movement’s flagship group for grassroots efforts.

Sen. Loeffler was also endorsed by Susan B. Anthony’s List and Georgia’s chapter of the Family Policy Alliance:

Despite these high-profile endorsements from the pro-life movement, Sen. Loeffler’s opponents perpetuate the narrative that the conservative outsider is not committed to the pro-life cause. As NRLC notes, Sen. Loeffler has consistently voted in support of pro-life measures during her time in the Senate:
“With a 100% pro-life voting record and a bold approach to fighting for the unborn against the pro-abortion agenda, she is exactly the type of conservative leader that will stand up for Georgia’s values and deliver meaningful results on the issues that matter most. We are proud to endorse such a tremendous pro-life champion in Georgia’s race for United States Senate,” NRLC President Carol Tobias said in a release.
Sen. Loeffler’s re-election is encompassed by Georgia’s “jungle primary” meaning that anyone seeking the office can be on the ballot in November; despite this procedure, Rep. Doug Collins is challenging the GOP incumbent, which risks Democrats winning the seat in an election year that is crucial for the GOP Senate majority.
Sen. Loeffler was tapped by Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) in January to fill the seat vacated by former Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-GA). Her appointment surprised many Trump allies, many of whom assumed that Gov. Kemp would select Rep. Collins to fill the seat, but Sen. Loeffler has proved herself to be a staunch ally for President Trump as only the second female senator from Georgia.
