I knew I wasn’t hearing things. Some reporter actually asked President Trump “If more Americans died in the last six weeks than the entirety of the Vietnam War, do you deserve to be re-elected?” Right because this is all Trump’s fault, right? He told China to bollock up their lab experiment and wait nearly a week to do anything about it. Yes, China knew this was going to become a pandemic and did nothing for six days. Oh, and did Trump also tell Beijing to disappear the vloggers and doctors who tried to raise awareness? The anti-Trump media earns its “enemy of the people” stripes every day. All this question did was remind Trump voters to show up at the polls and remind everyone else to ignore everything and anything the media doles out because it’s trash.
When the H1N1 swine flu virus killed 12,000, does that president deserve to be re-elected?

We have one of the best survival rates of all the major countries hammered by this disease. Does he get credit for that? Or just blame for the overall death toll? How about neither. https://t.co/XdUlvZCCo0

It’s clown questions like this that can make the briefing a waste of time. The only point of that question was to provoke. Not learn anything new. Not provide information to viewers. The point was to get under Trump’s skin. Good to see potus rose above and didn’t take the bait. https://t.co/ElNzIKvG36

How is that a serious question? Trump shut down incoming travel from China and then Europe created the Wuhan virus task force and moved quickly to ease FDA regulations to increase testing capacity. He also got American enterprise mobilized, though some already re-tooled their efforts, to help fight this virus, with My Pillow creating medical masks, distilleries creating hand sanitizer, Brooks Brothers making medical gowns, and General Motors making ventilators.
Well, former Bush Press Secretary Ari Fleischer filleted this question, saying “It’s clown questions like this that can make the briefing a waste of time. The only point of that question was to provoke. Not learn anything new. Not provide information to viewers. The point was to get under Trump’s skin. Good to see POTUS rose above and didn’t take the bait.”
Olivia Nuzzi, the reporter who asked the question, replied, “oh shut the f**k up.”
Yeah, that’s what we say to you people often. Everyone knows China is to blame for the virus. And if this is the new standard, then Barack Obama didn’t deserve re-election because 12,000 people died from Swine Flu. It’s ridiculous. Even the most level-headed voter out there, who isn’t a base voter for either party, would see this question as absurd. Trump has responded. He has acted quickly. The states that needed federal help, like New York and California, have praised the Trump White House’s efforts despite having two governors that despise him. The media hates Trump. That all this question showed, and how these folks don’t like it when their questions are challenged. Get over it. You may hate Trump, but I assure you, we hate the liberal media even more.

If more than 50,000 Americans died over the course of a few weeks at any time in our history, it would be fair to ask the president if he deserves to be reelected. It wasn’t a gotcha question, it wasn’t designed to provoke, and I appreciate the fact that Trump took it seriously.
