Actors Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson Test Positive for Wuhan Virus

A-list actors Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, his wife, have both tested positive for the Wuhan Virus in Australia Wednesday as they were working on their film about the life of Elvis Presley.

In a letter to Deadline, Hanks confirmed the diagnosis.

"Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches.   Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too," Hanks said. "To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus [Wuhan Virus], and were found to be positive."

"Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires," he explained. "Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?  We’ll keep the world posted and updated. Take care of yourselves!"

In response to the shocking news, Hollywood began shutting down agent and production offices, instructing employees to work from home. The move by the notoriously hard-working Tinseltown executive echoes much of the country that had also begun telling their employees to telecommute if possible.

Just after the news of Hanks and Wilson reached the U.S., President Trump spoke from the Oval Office to inform the country that flights from Europe, where the virus has been spreading quickly, to the United States would be suspended beginning Friday evening, excluding those from the United Kingdom for 30 days.
