Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is surging in New Hampshire, but the state's governor, Republican Chris Sununu, said it has nothing to do with Sanders' home state of Vermont being nearby and everything to do with how the candidate approaches his campaign.
"New Hampshire is a place where you have to come and earn the vote, person-to-person, we have to look you in the eye. We have to bite off you as a person, Republican and Democrat" Sununu said during a segment on CNBC. "Bernie is as socialist as they come, but, at the end of the day, he's pretty as unabashed about it. He doesn't change his position. He is what he is."
According to Sununu, Bernie's refreshing because he sticks to his positions and doesn't deviate from them. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), on the other hand, continually panders.
"She panders. She's a phony. She's just not genuine as a candidate, which is exactly why she's falling off," he explained. "Tom Steyer spent $20 million and all he really achieved was annoying the entire state. He wants to talk about being a good economist but that's the worst return on investment. I wouldn't invest in that guy in a hundred years."
