VIDEO: Trump Protesters Throw a Fit After the Senate Votes to Acquit Him on Both Impeachment Articles

Washington, D.C. — Anti-Trump protesters outside the Capitol building were once again upset after the Senate voted to acquit President Trump on the two impeachment articles, abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, the House passed in December.

The protests in and around Capitol Hill have been a daily occurrence since the beginning of the year and a small group gathered just as the Senate voted on acquittal. In the beginning, protesters had been chanting, "Convict and remove!" and "Guilty!" at the Capitol Building and even into grates that lead to electrical conduit tunnels, hoping it would help carry their voices inside the building.

A Capitol police officer walked over to inform the group the tunnel would not help carry their voices inside. Even with that knowledge, some protesters continued to shout into the grates throughout the demonstration.

Once the Senate's vote was finalized and Trump was not removed from office, the protesters were visibly upset and continued their chants, saying the Senate had participated in a "cover up." One speaker using a megaphone told the crowd the Senate had caved to a "racist," "white supremacist" president.

The scene was similar when protesters threw a fit on Friday after Senate Republicans voted against calling for more witnesses and documents related to Trump's phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

All Republicans, except for Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT), voted to acquit President Trump on both charges. Romney voted to acquit on obstruction of Congress. All Democrats voted in favor of both articles.
