Lindsey Graham Warns of a 'Day of Reckoning,' Vows to Call the Whistleblower

On Wednesday the Senate will vote to acquit President Trump of impeachment charges and it will likely happen in bipartisan fashion.

But the saga surrounding President Trump's July 25, 2019 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the whistleblower who filed a second-hand complaint about what was said, is far from over. The boomerang effect on Democrats has started.

During an interview with Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo over the weekend, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham vowed to compel testimony from the whistleblower in order to get to the bottom of what led to impeachment against President Trump. He also reiterated his plans to investigate the Bidens for their involvement with Burisma, the most corrupt company in Ukraine.

"The Senate Intel Committee under Richard Burr has told us that we will call the whistleblower. Why is it important? I want to find out how all this crap started. If the whistleblower is a former employee, associate of Joe Biden, I think that would be important. If the whistleblower was working with people on Schiff's staff who wanted to take Trump's staff down a year and a half ago, I think that would be important," Graham said. "If Schiff's staff people helped write the complaint, that would be important. We're going to get to the bottom of it so this never happens again.”

Speaking of Joe Biden, his part of this is just getting started.

"The day of reckoning is coming for congressional and Senate oversight of Joe Biden and the FISA warrant process," Graham said. "I'm going to bring in State Department officials and ask them, 'Why didn't you do something about the obvious conflict of interest Joe Biden had," he continued. "We're going to get to the bottom of this and I can prove beyond any doubt that Joe Biden's effort in the Ukraine to root out corruption was undercut because he let his son sit on the board of the most corrupt company in the Ukraine and we're not going to give him a pass on that."

Graham decried the double standard and special treatment given to family members of Democrats versus the extra scrutiny leveled against Republicans.

"I guaran-damn-tee you if the shoe were on the other foot, Democrats would be eating us alive is Republicans had done any of these things," he said. "We're not going to let you down."
