It's no secret that the mainstream media is in the back pockets of the Democratic Party. It's why they're accurately labeled the Democratic media complex. Anything the Democratic National Committee and their cohorts say is spewed and regurgitated by the leftist media.
For more than two years we heard Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) say we'd learn that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia. There was definitely some kind of collusion there. Special Counsel Robert Mueller was supposed to provide this smoking gun and what happened? He found no collusion took place.
Then Schiff switched to President Trump's call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, saying Trump threatened to withhold military aid unless Ukraine investigated corruption between former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter.
Over the last few days Schiff has repeated the same talking points, over and over and over. And what does the leftist media think? That he's somehow a genius. Just look at some of the tweets:
.@RepAdamSchiff is masterful. Sweeping yet specific. Eloquent yet clear. Relentless recitation of damning facts, but with a tone more of sadness than anger. Rooted in our deepest traditions - opening with Alexander Hamilton - yet as current as Trump’s latest tweet. Brilliant

Regardless of how the #ImpeachmentTrial ends, it has been a Tour de Force from Adam Schiff. He's still going strong, forcefully making the case for subpoenaing more documents from the State Department. pic.twitter.com/dTJg15ldWn

Schiff is doing an excellent job of pointing out the impact of obstruction: "Do you want me to read that to you? " he says referring to Amb. Taylor's 1st person cable. I can't because the State Department wouldn't turn it over to us. But you can do something about it, he says.

Schiff can argue about so-called "obstruction" but guess what? It's absolutely false. President Trump invoked executive privilege. The House was so quick to jam impeachment through that they refused to wait for the courts to decide if executive privilege covered the testimony of people like Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney and former National Security Advisor John Bolton.

The president has the legal right to invoke executive privilege. If the House wanted that testimony then they should have waited for the courts to litigate the issue.
One thing you learn in journalism is the value of concision. It’s not clear that House managers are going to add anything to Schiff’s (pretty effective) 2-hour presentation in the ensuing 22 hours, in fact they may subtract from it

Maybe Mitch should have given them 50 hours!
You’re right about Schiff’s effectiveness compared to other speakers. But Democrats have owned the Senate floor and cable news channels for several days now. When Bill Clinton was given a mic, he never gave it up willingly. It worked for him and probably is for for Ds as well. https://t.co/JCSLPybSXW

Democrats are in their own echo chamber, applauding one another and patting themselves on the back. It hardly constitutes being "effective." It just means networks like MSNBC and CNN want to hear from the same people who have pushed impeachment all along.
Bad faith actors like @LindseyGrahamSC will not care, but what @RepAdamSchiff is doing here is brilliant. He's referencing docs he doesn't have, reminding the Senate that they can demand those docs, and then explaining what *other witnesses under oath* have said about those docs.

This BLOW US the entire GOP "second hand information" argument. The information is NOT second hand, it's first hand from people who saw the docs. If you don't trust them, if you'd like to verify their recollections, SUBPOENA THE DOCUMENTS!#ImpeachmentTrial
— Elie Mystal (@ElieNYC) January 23, 2020
Again, Republicans don't seem to care about logic, or intellectual consistency. But this is pretty airtight.
— Elie Mystal (@ElieNYC) January 23, 2020
"I'd like to read it to you, but I can't, so I'll tell you what those who saw them said. If that's not enough, issue a subpoena."
Schiff did it again: "I'd like to read it to you, but I can't... Because President Trump has refused to release those records."
— Elie Mystal (@ElieNYC) January 23, 2020
I so agree that there's an aspect here that isn't even for *right now*, it's for 100 years from now when people are explaining late republic America.
"In any fair trial in America you would want to see contemporaneous notes.... I don't know what those notes say. Maybe they say no quid pro quo, maybe they say it was a perfect call."
— Elie Mystal (@ElieNYC) January 23, 2020
-- Wherein @RepAdamSchiff directly trolls @realDonaldTrump
Schiff going through testimony and then highlighting how individual pieces of documentary evidence the White House is withholding would fill the gaps/corroborate is brilliant.

How many times do we have to say "executive privilege" was invoked?
Let's be honest here: the mainstream media was going to applaud the Democrats, regardless of what they did or said. They were going to applaud the Democrats for "honoring their oath" and "answering the call of duty" by impeaching the president.
If we've learned anything throughout this entire saga it's that the left is willing to further destroy our country... and it's all because Orange Man BAD.
