Four senators are running for president. With the impeachment trial against President Trump on the horizon, Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) said the responsible thing for them to do is to step aside and let their colleagues handle it.

They should recuse themselves.
“Tomorrow, one hundred United States Senators will be sworn in to serve in the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump. Four of those Senators must recuse themselves for their unparalleled political interest in seeing this President removed from office,” she added.
If the four senators/2020 candidates do decide to participate in the trial, they will have "failed their oath of office," Blackburn said.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) has been saying the same thing for weeks and, unsurprisingly, the media has not heeded his advice to ask the tough questions.

Instead, we have the New York Times asking Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) if he is an Amazon Prime member.
The House voted to release the articles of impeachment, abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, to the Senate only on Wednesday, almost 30 days since voting on them. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi signed the articles with a smile on her face on Wednesday, despite telling us for weeks how "solemn" a process this was.
