After Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) announced that she was suspending her 2020 presidential campaign, lefties quickly took to Twitter to voice their outrage over the remainder of the Democrats' top tier contenders. Their issue: those who will be on the December Democratic debate stage are all white.
Kamala Harris officially ended her campaign today, which means that all of the candidates who currently qualify for the December Democratic debate are white (Sanders, Warren, Biden, Buttigieg, Klobuchar, and Steyer).

The Democratic Party has created a process with includes Steyer but excludes Cory Booker.

And apparently it's racist that Booker and Castro don't qualify for the debate even though they're polling similarly to Steyer.

Oh, and if you don't agree with a particular candidate's agenda then somehow you're racist and sexist or a little bit of both.

The implicit racism and sexism of "electability" is deeply damaging to democracy.
But the saddest take came from actor Mikel Jollett, who thinks a black woman couldn't go very far in presidential politics because she doesn't have a massive pile of cash.
I just saw the news about Kamala Harris withdrawing and all I can think is I would love to live in a country where extremely qualified, brilliant black women could go further in presidential politics than otherwise mediocre white men with a pile of money.

To be perfectly clear, there are brilliant people of all races/genders. The problem is that the brilliant women, specifically the brilliant black women, so often have their brilliance overlooked or downright sabotaged. That simply doesn't happen to white men.

The madness is that this country requires a "perfection" from women, specifically black women, that it simply does not demand of white men.
The reason Harris' campaign flopped is because she continually tried to go whichever way the wind blowed. She continually changed her positions while trying to pretend to be a "progressive prosecutor." Even the leftist mainstream media outlets called her out for her record while she was the District Attorney in San Francisco.
She continually ran with this idea that she could "prosecute" President Donald Trump's so-called impeachment crimes. It was a great talking point to rally the base, but people quickly got tired of it. And she didn't really have any policy positions other than "Congress will do what I say or I'll do ____ by executive action." Translation: she wanted to be a dictator.
Harris dropping out isn't because people are racist or sexist. It's because voters don't agree with her policy positions. If she was a white man and did the exact same things – hemorrhaged money, treated staffers like crap and threw out bumper sticker slogans – they too would have to end their campaign by now.
Democrats love to focus on people's gender, race and sexuality. What happened to looking at a leader based on their experiences and eligibility instead of checking off these various diversity boxes?
