Democrats are now targeting Vice President Mike Pence in their impeachment inquiry against President Trump. The chairmen of the House Intelligence, Foreign Affairs and Oversight committees sent the following document request to the VP on Friday, demanding he cough them up by October 15.

“Recently, public reports have raised questions about any role you may have played in conveying or reinforcing the President’s stark message to the Ukrainian President,” the chairmen wrote in the letter to Pence. “The reports include specific references to a member of your staff who may have participated directly in the July 25, 2019, call, documents you may have obtained or reviewed, including the record of the call, and your September 1, 2019, meeting with the Ukrainian President in Warsaw, during which you reportedly discussed the Administration’s hold on U.S. security assistance to Ukraine.”
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced her party was launching an impeachment inquiry against President Trump following a whistleblower complaint that accused him of asking Ukraine to meddle in the 2020 election and investigate his political opponent Joe Biden over his shady ties to Ukraine. Asked about the accusation, Trump said the request was not about politics - it was about weeding out corruption. The phone transcript also provided no evidence of quid pro quo.
Pence has defended Trump's call with Zelensky. His Twitter account has largely focused on Trump's positive impact on the economy. On Friday, the September jobs report revealed that unemployment is now at a 50-year low, the VP was happy to share.
