British Prime Minister Theresa May has reportedly told Parliament she'll resign if her Brexit plan succeeds. As lawmakers were debating a way forward, she pledged she will not be PM for the next phase of negotiations.

In summary:

“I have heard very clearly the mood of the parliamentary party," May said. "I know there is a desire for a new approach – and new leadership – in the second phase of the Brexit negotiations – and I won’t stand in the way of that."

There had been chatter about her resignation, particularly after Parliament twice handed her an overwhelming and historic defeat for her Brexit deal. The UK had originally planned to leave the European Union on March 29. But, as they have yet to agree on a deal, the EU approved an extension until May 22.
