Late Friday afternoon, former Democratic Virginia Gov. Terry McCauliffe called upon current Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax to resign in wake of two sexual assault allegations saying "it is clear" that Lt. Gov. Fairfax "can no longer effectively serve the people of Virginia."
The allegations against Justin Fairfax are serious and credible. It is clear to me that he can no longer effectively serve the people of Virginia as Lieutenant Governor. I call for his immediate resignation.

As Lauretta reported this afternoon for Townhall, "a second woman, Meredith Watson, came forward Friday to accuse Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax of sexual assault. Watson is calling for Fairfax’s resignation and alleged that Fairfax raped her when they were both students at Duke University."
Likewise, Watson's allegation "comes after Dr. Vanessa Tyson, now a professor at Scripps College, released a detailed statement earlier this week saying that Fairfax had physically forced her to perform oral sex in 2004 at the Democratic National Convention."
As reported by the Washington Post, Watson has previously mentioned Lt. Gov. alleged rape in various emails and other forms of communication. In one 2016 email provided by her attorneys regarding a campaign fundraiser for Lt. Gov. Fairfax, Watson replied to the original sender "...Justin raped me in college and I don’t want to hear anything about him. Please, please, please remove me form any future emails about him please."
For his part, Lt. Gov. Fairfax has adamantly denied Watson's accusation. He has called for a "full investigation," saying, “I will clear my good name and I have nothing to hide. I have passed two full field background checks by the FBI and run for office in two highly contested elections with nothing like this being raised before."
