NY Bookstore Closes to 'Mourn' Cuomo's New Abortion Law

Even the most nascent pro-lifers are outraged over New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's new extreme pro-abortion law. The bill, which he signed this week, allows abortion up to 24 weeks.

His signature was awarded with a standing ovation in the New York state assembly. It was met with derision just about everywhere else. Pro-life groups and figures on social media are sounding off on both the callousness of the legislation and the hypocrisy of the governor.

Football star Benjamin Watson agreed with these sentiments, writing, "it is a sad and evil day when the murder of our most innocent and vulnerable is celebrated with such overwhelming exuberance."

Joining them in their outrage was a small bookstore in upstate New York called Jon Speed. To protest the new legislation, the store closed up shop on Wednesday and tacked the following message on the door.

The store owner posted the same message on his website.

As a result of their bold stand, Jon Speed Books is enjoying a sharp increase in traffic to both its website and store front.

Cuomo probably has no interest in heeding the above concerns, considering a few years ago he basically told pro-lifers they were not welcome in New York. This week he celebrated the new pro-abortion law by lighting the One World Trade Center in pink.
