Rock star Kid Rock gave some very unfiltered remarks during his appearance on "Fox & Friends" Friday morning. He was telling Steve Doocy what he loved about America and how pleased he was with President Trump's policies, before sounding off on what he doesn't like: political correctness and Joy Behar.
"God forbid you say something a little bit wrong — you’re racist, homophobic, Islamophobic," Rock said. "People need to calm down, get a little less politically correct, and I would say love everybody - except, I'd say screw that Joy Behar b****."
Doocy and his co-anchors repeatedly apologized for the rocker's language. But that wasn't the end of the fallout for Rock. The city of Nashville decided to strip him of his grand marshal duties for the Christmas parade on Saturday. Rock's replacement is James Shaw Jr., the Nashville hero who subdued a gunman at a local Waffle House in April.
Mayor David Briley also threatened now to show if Kid Rock retained his title.
“If Kid Rock is still the grand marshal tomorrow, the mayor is inclined not to participate,” Briley's office said in a statement.
Still, according to Bryan Lewis, the attorney for Kid Rock’s business partner Steve Smith, Rock had still planned to show up at the Saturday. “I guess it’ll be a standoff at 8 a.m,” Lewis told Variety.
Rock regretted his cursing on air. But, despite the consequences, he defended his description of Behar in a new message on Facebook. (warning: language)
Behar responded on "The View," taking Kid Rock up on his offer to hash it out on TV. She and her fellow anchors invited him on the show, as early as Monday.
