Get Ready: Trump's About to Dish Out 'Awards' For 'Most Dishonest and Corrupt Media'

President Trump said Tuesday that he will be announcing “awards” for the “Fake News Media” next week.

“I will be announcing THE MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR on Monday at 5:00 o’clock,” he said on Twitter. “Subjects will cover Dishonesty & Bad Reporting in various categories from the Fake News Media. Stay tuned!”

The announcement comes after a multitude of tweets and public comments during his political life denouncing many media outlets over reporting falsehoods, using unnamed sources, and blatant bias.

He's shown particular disdain for CNN, which he has referred to as Clinton News Network; The New York Times, which he calls The Failing New York Times; CBS, ABC, and NBC News.

The president has repeatedly warned his followers not to believe everything they read.

In May, for example, he cautioned, “Whenever you see the words ‘sources say’ in the fake news media, and they don’t mention names … it is very possible that those sources don’t exist but are made up by fake news writers. #FakeNews is the enemy!”

He insists, however, that the fake news media is not his enemy, but the American people's enemy. Nevertheless, he wished them a Happy New Year.

"As our Country rapidly grows stronger and smarter, I want to wish all of my friends, supporters, enemies, haters, and even the very dishonest Fake News Media, a Happy and Healthy New Year. 2018 will be a great year for America!" he wrote Sunday.
