Tim Scott Denies Being 'Prop' for Tax Reform

Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) has always had a bold presence on Twitter. Wednesday was no exception.

Scott was "proud" to vote with his colleagues on tax reform, according to his Twitter timeline. So, you can imagine his surprise when Huffington Post contributor Andy Ostroy suggested Scott was pressured by GOP leaders to be front and center on camera once the bill passed because of his skin color.

Scott saw Ostroy's message and assured him that he had plenty of other reasons to be standing up there with his colleagues as they celebrated the bill's passage.

Boom. Roasted.

Scott has long been heralding the tax reform plan, especially since it included a measure he sponsored called the Investing in Opportunity Act, which is intended to help struggling communities. You can watch his remarks below. Clearly, no one pressured him stand up there.
