It's been a doozy of a news week, so please enjoy these pictures of the CIA's new K9 class celebrating their graduation from dog school.
The CIA has been providing periodic "pupdates" on the dogs during their four months of training, including the bittersweet news of recruit Lulu failing out of the program.
But now, the dogs have graduated, so let's celebrate before the real work begins.

After 4 months of intense training for our newest #CIAK9 recruits, all of the hard work finally paid off as the CIA Fall 2017 “Puppy Class” officially graduated! pic.twitter.com/HbBz6da9UD
To graduate, pups & handlers had to pass 2 national certification tests: one administered by the @ATFHQ & another by United States Police Canine Association (#USPCAk9). The tests are the gold standard for explosive detection dog certification. pic.twitter.com/s8kJ6LkAhF

But good news--the dogs passed. Freya was awarded the "Top Dog Award" for her near-perfect score on the exam.

Freya & her handler were awarded class’s “Top Dog Award” for scoring 298.68 out of 300 points on her #USPCAk9 test.
Heide, who belongs to @fredcova Fire Marshal in Virginia, aced her certifications as well. pic.twitter.com/21N86kMfnE
Even Harry, who replaced Lulu, was able to catch up and graduate on time. Good boy!

Unfortunately, one dog--Suni--was unable to graduate as her handler was unable to finish the program. But there's a happy ending--Suni was adopted by the people who raised her as a puppy, who are thrilled to have her in their home.
Suni’s family who raised her until she was 1 ½ asked to adopt her if she didn’t complete our program. She is now w her original family, who were thrilled to get her back! We miss the smart, silly, sassy Lab, but are so happy that she gets to live in such a wonderful, loving home. pic.twitter.com/BwaqMeSU9t

Now that the new puppies have graduated, that means their older counterparts will retire. The retired K9 dogs were all adopted by their handlers.
