Last weekend, President Trump announced his decision to release the majority of remaining JFK documents, but hundreds were sealed for national security reasons.
As I noted last week, 25 years ago, Congress passed the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992 which ordered the acting commander-in-chief to release all JFK files by October 26, 2017, barring any threat to national intelligence or security.
On Thursday, President Trump officially released most of the documents but some remained under wraps. This led to speculation there was more potentially damaging information to the United States government's handling of the investigation into the death of President John F. Kennedy.
As President Trump said in his tweets, he hopes the increased transparency will put to bed any of those speculations.
