Fun: Bernie Sanders Lambasts Democrats in NYC Church

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), the thorn in Hillary Clinton's side during the 2016 presidential campaign, is lecturing Democrats on their failure to win the White House last November. Speaking from Riverside Church in Morningside Heights, New York, located in upper Manhattan, the senator shared his dismay that too many Democrats turned their back on his progressive agenda. Sanders was in New York to promote his new book, "Bernie Sanders Guide to Political Revolution."

"Not everybody, especially my colleagues in Washington, are happy to hear this," Sanders told the audience. "It wasn’t that Trump won the election. It was that the Democratic Party lost the election.”

The audience applauded at this remark, DNA Info reports.

Sanders also rejected the idea that all Trump voters were racist, misogynists, again reverting to his point that the Democrats did not adequately relay their ideas.

The Vermont independent has every right to be peeved at the Democratic Party. From the beginning to the end of his campaign, he received little help from the Democratic National Committee, who tailored a debate schedule that heavily favored the more familiar and establishment candidate Hillary Clinton. Yet, joke's on them. She couldn't get the job done.

Leading Democrats have been willing to say the same thing lately. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) told the press ahead of the party's 'Better Deal' agenda this summer that Democrats failed to deliver their message in a meaningful way. In an obvious dig at Hillary Clinton, he said no Democrat should be blaming Russia or anyone else for their for the party's rout. Blame the messenger.
