Politico and Morning Consult crunched the data. More early exits shows that Clinton is winning the ground game, while President Obama’s rescue mission to help Clinton get over the finish line with a win really wasn’t a factor with most voters. Just 21 percent of voters said they cast a ballot to show their support of the president, whereas 19 percent said they voted to oppose him. Fifty-five percent said the president was no factor in their decision process. Nevertheless, 55 percent also said that whoever wins the election has a mandate. On the ground game, 17 percent of voters were contacted in some way, either by phone or in person, according to the publication. Only eight percent were reached by the Trump campaign. The poll was conduct between October 18-November 8, with a sample size of 9,704 early and Election Day voters.
Still, we have reports that voter turnout in Michigan from working class voters is higher than projected, which could certainly translate into an interesting night in neighboring states, like Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, where such states are chock full of those voters, many of which lean towards Trump who has made the white working class the backbone of his campaign.
Katie wrote earlier that the first batch of exits showed that voters want a strong leader.
