Michigan AG Candidate: 'Elect Candidate Who Doesn’t Have A Penis'

A candidate for attorney general in the state of Michigan is asking for you to vote for candidates who don't have a penis.

Dana Nessel is running to be Michigan's next attorney general, and she has had enough of the sexual assault and harassment allegations, and the men who use their power to abuse and take advantage of women. Her solution to all this sexual harassment is quite simple. Vote for the candidate who isn't a man.

In an advertisement for her candidacy, Dana Nessel asks, “Who can you trust most not to show you their penis in a professional setting? That would be the candidate who doesn’t have one."

Nessel had this to add to CBS Detroit WWJ:

If you get more women in office, if you get more women in positions of authority, you’re less likely to have issues where someone is pulling out their penis at an inappropriate time in the the workplace. I’m not saying that all men harass and I’m certainly not saying that women are incapable of sexually harassing, but I know from many years serving as an assistant prosecutor prosecuting sex crimes, honestly, the vast, vast majority of those cases do involve men. So I thought that point needed to be made.

Though Nessel notes that not all men are harassers or assaulters, she is still stating that Michigan voters should not vote for men simply because the majority of sexual harassers and assaulters are men.

Also in her ad, Nessel addresses those who question if it is a good idea for Michigan to have a female governor, female attorney general, and female secretary of state. She says, "Can we afford not to?"

The candidate for attorney general also stated that women need more representation in Michigan's legislature, saying to WWJ:

The fact of the matter is this, in Michigan only 20 percent of our legislature is comprised of women. We know that the fewer women you have in positions of authority, the more likely you are to see this type of abuse. It just doesn’t happen nearly as much when you have women in positions of power. And we need to have equal representation. I think we would see a lot less of these sex scandals if we did.
