MSNBC's Maddow: Tea Party Convention Started With A “Big, Loud Racist Bang”

The National Tea Party Convention's opening speech, delivered by former Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo, kicked off what is sure to be a large liberal media hissy fit.  MSNBC's Rachel Maddow was apparently irked last night following the speech, calling Tancredo a "professional anti-immigrant."

Maddow characterized his speech and the "much maligned" convention as starting off with a "big, loud racist bang."  Maddow then shows a clip of Tancredo advocating for literacy tests for voters: "People who could not even spell the word 'vote,' or say it in English, put a committed socialist ideologue in the White House.  His name is Barack Hussein Obama," Tancredo said.

Maddow then compares Tancredo and the crowd to the Ku Klux Klan.  Video via Mediaite:
