House to Vote on Resolution Condemning Rep. Joe Wilson

Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) made headlines last week as he decried Obama's remarks during his health care speech before a joint session of congress.  As Obama claimed his health care plan would not cover illegal aliens, Rep. Wilson cried out, "You lie!"  Wilson later offered an apology to the president for his sudden outburst and the president happily accepted.

You'd think this would be the end of the story... but not in Washington.

The House of Representatives is slated to vote tomorrow on a "resolution" condemning Wilson for his outspoken charge.  A letter being circulated around Capitol Hill is encouraging GOP lawmakers to stand behind Wilson, and House Minority Leader John Boehner released the following statement earlier today:
Rep. Wilson has apologized to the President, and the President accepted his apology. Last Thursday, Speaker Pelosi said that she believed it was time to move on and discuss health care. I couldn’t agree more, and that’s why I plan to vote ‘no’ on this resolution. Instead of pursuing this type of petty partisanship, we should be working together to lower costs and expand access to affordable, high-quality health coverage on behalf of the American people.
