Sotomayor Confirmation: By the Numbers

Following the first two days of hearing testimony, Rasmussen's latest poll shows 90% of Americans believe Judge Sotomayor's confirmation is likely, but a plurality of Americans actually oppose her appointment to the nation's highest court: 37% of voters favor her confirmation; 43% are opposed.  However, Rasmussen points out that undecideds generally have a positive view of President Obama and would probably support Sotomayor's candidacy based on his recommendation.

In addition, 83% also say "the U.S. legal system should apply the law equally to all Americans rather than using the law to help those who have less power and influence."
