The nation should be shocked by the death of Rachel Morin, a mother of five who was brutally raped and murdered by an illegal alien in Harford County, Maryland, last year. It’s the tragic tale of how the loss of operational control of the southern border under Joe Biden has led to Americans getting killed. Democratic Governor Wes Moore voiced his outrage on Fox News but stopped short of saying what needed to be said.
Gov. Moore did point out some facts: this avoidable tragedy shows that border states aren’t the only ones besieged in dealing with the issues of our broken immigration system. The inaction has been inexcusable, but he refused to slam Joe Biden for the total collapse we’ve seen over the past four years. Moore doesn’t assign blame to any party because this system has been broken for so long. He’s partially right, but it’s reached steroid-level abuse under Biden, who has let in the equivalent of whole populations of Central American nations into the country.

Morin was killed while on a hike in August 2023. Her alleged killer, Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernandez, was arrested in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by federal agents last weekend after an extended manhunt (via ABC News):
After 10 months of searching the country, investigators said they arrested the suspect on Friday who they say allegedly murdered Rachel Morin while she was hiking through a Maryland trail last summer.
Harford County Sherriff Jeffrey Gahler told reporters Saturday that through DNA evidence and tracking, local police and the FBI arrested Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernandez in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in connection with the 2023 killing.
Morin, 37, a mother of five, was found dead on the Ma & Pa Heritage Trail on Aug. 6, 2023, a day after her boyfriend reported her missing after she didn't return home from a hike.

Martinez-Hernandez, 23, will be charged with first-degree murder and first-degree rape when he is extradited to Maryland, Gahler said.
Investigators believe Morin was attacked on the trail and pulled through a wooded area before being killed in a drainage culvert that runs alongside the trail, the sheriff's office previously said.

Moore’s initial remarks in his Fox News hit should embarrass MSNBC talking heads Jen Psaki, Joy Reid, and Rachel Maddow, who chuckled over why immigration was becoming a top concern for voters last February—this is why, ladies. People are getting raped and murdered by criminal illegal aliens, and you people want them to stay and terrorize our citizens.
