Dr. Anthony Fauci: Yeah, China Gave Us Misinformation on the Wuhan Coronavirus

China lied and people died. It’s something the world should keep on repeating because it’s a fact. And the only thing more pathetic is watching an authoritarian regime trying to pull a fast one in the era of social media. China lied to the world about the Wuhan coronavirus, told their scientists to destroy samples of the pneumonia-like virus, strong-armed doctors trying to raise awareness, kept their medical staff in the dark, and prevented new cases from being reported. The worst was China telling the World Health Organization that there was no evidence of human-to-human transmission. That was a lie. And it led to world governments probably lowering their guard in January. Oh, and the vloggers and doctors who tried to raise the red flag have vanished. So, yes, I have no problems blaming China for this pandemic. Their incompetence, secrecy, and pure idiocy led to this virus decimating the world economy.

Even. Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and one of President Trump’s top task force officials, told MSNBC’s Al Sharpton yesterday that China gave the U.S. “misinformation,” and by the time they realized the information as bogus; it was too late.

As of yesterday, over 550,000 Americans have been infected with this virus, with over 22,000 dying from it. It’s highly contagious. And not everyone gets gravely ill. Some people may have mild symptoms while others may be asymptomatic. The latter folks can spread the disease everywhere and contracting this disease through surfaces appears to be one of the main causes for the spread. This virus can live on some surfaces for up to three days. It’s why social distancing protocols have been established, which has had an impact on reducing the spread. This is our best defense. We have no vaccine yet. Washing your hands and avoid touching your face is also key. This virus is more contagious than the flu, but while we fight to save lives from those infected with the Wuhan virus—we also need to think about the economy. Some businesses will be closed forever in another 4-6 weeks. We need everyone to just stay home. The sooner everyone does that, the quicker our economy can get back to work. We’re in gridlock and it’s killing American workers. In the meantime, we even have Dr. Fauci saying that what China initially gave us about this virus was garbage.
