CNN Editor Offers One of The Most Pathetic Reasons for Why Trump Impeachment Polling Hasn’t Moved

There’s CNN’s polling and then there’s everybody else. Also, everybody else’s surveys are also suspect. The 2016 election totally shot what was left of polling’s reliability. Now, it’s not totally gone, but in the Trump era—take everything with a grain of salt. These number crunchers blew it big league and you simply cannot poll accurately with this president or his supporters. His base can and has voted for Democrats. The partisan atmosphere makes people more hesitant to be truthful and some people straight-up mess with pollsters, marking it as their own little act of rebellion against the liberal media elite.

So, CNN’s polling on impeachment is at 50 percent. It’s doubtful, but it’s remained that way for weeks. It hasn’t budged. Meanwhile, the polling on this matter in key battleground states, like Wisconsin, has the figure at 40 percent. It’s not popular. In Wisconsin, some Democrats said they cannot believe what they hear about the president anymore because networks, like CNN, have been abysmal in their reporting on this administration. It’s also not really all that popular with another slice of the electorate that will be key to this cycle: Independents. So, how does CNN explain why the needle hasn’t moved? Oh, it must be Thanksgiving or the preparations for Christmas (via Newsbusters):

Trying to find a rationale for why the polling data does not match with that assessment of the hearings, Cillizza theorized that despite non-stop media attention and almost universal media praise for the witnesses, people just aren't paying attention and cautioned Sciutto and viewers against reading too much into the polls and, "that we, people like you and I are following this extremely closely. The average person is gearing up for Thanksgiving, looking ahead to Christmas." He said that time would be necessary to see any change in the numbers, "it's possible that this will take a little bit longer to seep into the body politic, the average voter and then let’s give it two, three, four weeks and see where we're at."

Sciutto, despite his own feelings about Trump, wasn't buying Cillizza's holiday excuse, "Well it though, because there's also signs out there that folks are running out of patience with some of the coverage." He then dug a little deeper into the data to show that support for independents has slightly decreased since October, "So I hear your point there, but we're also entering a period now where you may not get any new information. Unless the courts force key witnesses to testify."

Well, I mean, if we’re going by that explanation, that’s the giveaway right there, folks. People don’t care. And if they don’t care, then this is a worthless political exercise by Democrats. People don’t care because the charge is shoddy. It’s even more pathetic than the Russia collusion myth. People care about their finances, their pocketbooks—and the Trump agenda has been very good on that end. Meanwhile, Democrats are galivanting around the country discussing how they will destroy health insurance with their forced Medicare scheme.

It seems the only folks who think this will end the Trump presidency are people ho already hate him and they’ve said this before and have been totally wrong because no one cares. It’s hilarious. It’s entertaining. How many times have we been told the walls are closing in? And on this one, you already know that there is no way 67 Senators will vote to convict and remove Trump. And now the House Judiciary is going to try and give it a stab at boosting impeachment numbers. You guys lost. And all of this while Trump is behind a booming economy that will get him a second term.
