We’ve had two targeted attacks against ICE facilities. They could arguably be labeled acts of domestic terror. In Tacoma, Washington, a left-wing activist who supported Antifa attacked an ICE facility. He was shot and killed by police. In San Antonio, Texas, the FBI is investigating what is being described as a targeted shooting on ICE offices. Luckily, no one was hurt in the incident. These attacks are part of a string of attacks against facilities operated by federal immigration enforcement agency this summer. In the wake of the San Antonio incident, ICE has blamed misinformation and heated rhetoric for fueling the uptick in violence directed at the federal agency. And while there were no fatalities in San Antonio, the FBI said had the bullets fired had cone “two inches in another direction,” it could’ve been a story about the death of a federal official (via NYT):

Federal officials are investigating two shootings that they say targeted facilities housing Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations in San Antonio.
Numerous shots were fired into two ICE facilities in private commercial buildings around 3 a.m. on Tuesday, Christopher Combs, special agent in charge of the F.B.I.’s San Antonio division, said at a news conference later in the day. It was unknown how many individuals might be involved in the shootings, he said.
As a result, the F.B.I. opened an investigation as an “assault on a federal official case,” he said.
“I want to stress to everyone that any attempt at any violence or illegal activity against a federal official, the F.B.I. will open a federal case and we will vigorously go after those that are responsible,” Mr. Combs said.
There were federal employees present at the time, but no one was hurt, he said. Daniel Bible, the field office director for the agency’s Enforcement and Removal Operations in San Antonio, declined to comment at the news conference on how many people were present at the time of the shooting.
The buildings also house businesses unrelated to the agency, according to a statement from the F.B.I. on Wednesday.
“Had the bullets gone two inches in another direction, we could be here today talking about the murder of a federal official,” Mr. Combs said.
He called the shots fired into the buildings not “an act of protest” but “an act of violence.”\

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has been at the forefront in the smear ICE campaign, calling for its abolishment and saying detention centers for illegals at the southern border were akin to Nazi concentration camps. Yes, everyone who enforces immigration law, Border Patrol included, is the enemy to this wing of the Democratic Party. It’s nonsense. And it’s a particularly winning strategy for the 2020 candidates who appear to be forced to go a step further by suggesting that border crossings be decriminalized and health care be provided to illegals. That’s open border policy right there—and it’s not popular. Still, AOC is zero regrets for invoking the historical inaccurate and loaded phrase. She says that it’s been misunderstood. Would she have felt the same if a federal official had been assassinated? This time we were lucky, but there are plenty of insane left-wingers who will probably commit more acts of violence like this.
