Carter Page Says He's Updating Lawsuits Thanks To FISA Memo's Release

Carter Page was a former foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign and a central figure in this FISA memo war and the ongoing narrative of Russia collusion. We now know that the Trump dossier, which was really a partisan opposition research document funded by the Clinton campaign, was used as the basis to secure a FISA warrant against Page. Former MI6 operative Christopher Steele compiled the document. Research firm Fusion GPS, which had been retained for their services by the Clinton campaign, contracted him. This was a Democrat-funded venture. Full stop. It was also largely uncorroborated. A shoddy document that was really partisan opposition research from a presidential campaign was used by the FBI/DOJ to secure a warrant to spy on the opposing side.

Mr. Page released this statement, which seems to indicate that he might bring legal action against the Department of Justice:

The brave and assiduous oversight by Congressional leaders in discovering this unprecedented abuse of process represents a giant, historic leap in the repair of America’s democracy. Now that a few of the misdeeds against the Trump Movement have been partially revealed, I look forward to updating my pending legal action in opposition to the DOJ this weekend in preparation for Monday’s next small step on the long, potholed road toward helping to restore law and order in our great country.

Page had filed lawsuits against Yahoo! and The Huffington Post in September of 2017:

Former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser Carter Page filed a defamation lawsuit against Yahoo and the Huffington Post on Thursday over a story that said he was under investigation for meeting Russian officials who meddled in the election.

In the Manhattan Federal Court suit, filed by Page himself, he charges that on Sept. 23, 2016 Yahoo “published a highly misleading article filled with false allegations.”
