Hey WSJ, You Left Out This Major Detail About Steve Scalise's Rehabilitation

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) is recovering from a gunshot wound. He was on the verge of death when he was rushed to hospital after an attack against Republican congressmen who were practicing for the annual congressional baseball game in Alexandria in June. The attacker, James Hodgkinson, was an avowed leftist and Bernie Sanders supporter. The Wall Street Journal reported that as part of his rehabilitation, Scalise is learning to walk again:

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R., La.) is relearning how to walk after being shot at a congressional baseball practice earlier this year, House Speaker Paul Ryan (R., Wis.) said.

Mr. Scalise joined a conference call of House Republicans on Monday to talk about the fall agenda, the first time many of them had heard his voice since the June shooting, Mr. Ryan said during a CNN town hall late Monday.

As the majority whip, Mr. Scalise focuses on counting and corralling House GOP votes. In his absence, chief deputy whip Rep. Patrick McHenry (R., N.C.) has played a larger role wrangling House Republicans.

“It was very emotional for us,” Mr. Ryan said at the end of the town hall held in his Wisconsin congressional district. “He has a long road ahead of him, but he’s going to be OK. His body’s healing.”

Mr. Scalise has undergone multiple surgeries after being shot in the hip on June 14 and was readmitted into the intensive care unit in early July due to infection concerns. He is now in rehabilitation and undergoing extensive physical therapy, Mr. Ryan said.

Did you notice anything missing? Like, the fact that a nutty left wing activist targeted Republican members of Congress during baseball practice. There’s no mention of that or Hodgkinson’s name in the piece. This isn’t a minor detail. Thank to our friends at Twitchy for pointing this out
