McCain Pollster: Race is Within Margin of Error

I'm on a conference call with Bill McInturff, Lead Pollster, McCain-Palin 2008 (he is also a partner at Public Opinion Strategies).  According to McInturff, the ABC/Washington Post presidential tracking poll -- which shows

Obama with a double-digit lead -- is an outlier.  Based on numerous other polls (POS, alone, constantly conducts tons of them), McInturff says that the race is actually within the margin of error nationally, and within most battleground states.  He says the "data is stable" and that there is no "volatility" that would produce the ABC, WaPost numbers.
