Bush Speaks ...

When Laura Bush introduced him moments ago, the crowd in the convention center rose to their feet and began to give President Bush a tremendous round of applause.  This, of course, was not unexpected as this is essentially a "send-off" for him -- and for The First Lady.  Delegates who love the president may see this as their last chance to tell him so.  But the video came on too fast to allow the applause to fully register (maybe this was on purpose???).

The president's speech was well-received.  It was still a but surreal to hear him talk about John McCain -- his former political enemy -- as his successor.
