A few thoughts: In noting that Bush has brought on too many squishy Texas loyalists who turned on him, I reference Matthew Dowd and Mark McKinnon. These two were notable because, like McKinnon, they are moderate Republicans ... at best (I would actually say liberals). It should be noted that McKinnon did not turn on Bush.
