Morning Joe Mocks Gov. Cuomo For Saying 'America Was Never That Great'

Thursday morning, MSNCBC’s "Morning Joe" Panel openly mocked and criticized Governor Cuomo for his statement that “America was never that great."

Guest host Willie Geist, played the clip of Cuomo’s statement and then commented on it.

“We’re not going to make America great again, it was never that great. We have not reached greatness. We will reach greatness when every American is fully engaged,” said Cuomo, according to a report from the Washington Free Beacon.

“Yes, those were gasps you heard when Governor Cuomo said that,” clarified Geist.

Following these statements President Trump and Cuomo got into a Twitter battle.

“Ok, that is a tweet of a many whose skin has been gotten under. Governor Cuomo that was  not a well formulated tweet," MSNBC analyst John Heilemann responded.

When one of the most left leaning media outlets is openly and harshly criticizing and mocking a Democrat on a show such as Morning Joe, you know it has to be pretty bad.

Governor Cuomo’s press secretary issued a statement which says: “The governor believes America is great.”

“Never a good day when you have to come out and explicitly clarify that you believe America is great,” responded Geist. At this statement the Morning Joe panel erupts in laughter.

Kasie Hunt, a fellow guest host observed, “That poorly formulated tweet that you note, sort of glosses over all of the things that happened in the 20th century such as liberating Europe from the Nazis.”
