John Brennan Wants to Sue Trump Over Stripping Security Clearances

Last week President Trump officially stripped former CIA director John Brennan of his security clearance, citing it unnecessary for the one-time spy chief to continue his access to classified information.

"As the head of the executive branch and commander-in-chief, I have a unique constitutional responsibility to protect the nation's classified information. Including by controlling access to it. Today in fulfilling that responsibility, I've decided to revoke the security clearance of John Brennan, former director of the Central Intelligence Agency,” President Trump released in a statement. "At this point in my administration any benefits that senior officials might glean from consultations with Mr. Brennan are now outweighed by the risks posed by his erratic conduct and behavior."

Now, Brennan is reportedly planning to sue President Trump and wants to block him from revoking security clearances of others in the future.

And in typical fashion, President Trump is egging him on.

Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in July the security clearances of former FBI director James Comey, former DNI director James Clapper, current DOJ official Bruce Ohr and others are under review.
