Democrat congressional candidate Dan Helmer of Virginia is running a television ad that states President Trump is a threat to the United States of America...just as Osama bin Laden once was during his reign of terror.
"After 9/11, the greatest threat to our democracy lived in a cave. Now, he lives in the White House," Helmer says in the ad.
Osama bin Laden, of course, is the world's most infamous terrorist and was responsible for the slaughter of thousands of innocent Americans on 9/11. He was also responsible for the bombings of the USS Cole in Yemen, in addition to the U.S. Embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania. These attacks left hundreds dead and thousands severely injured. Bin Laden haunted America and the world as he plotted and planned for two decades. He was killed in 2011 while hiding in a Pakistani compound and helped plan terrorist attacks up until his death.

Helmer's ultimate goal is running against Republican Congresswoman Barbara Comstock, who currently represents Virginia's 10th congressional district. He's currently locked in a crowded primary battle with five fellow Democrats, including Virginia State Senator Jennifer Wexton. Apparently, he thinks the best way to win over a leftist base is to compare the President of the United States to a blood thirsty monster. As an Afghanistan veteran, Helmer should know better.
