Charles Krauthammer on Midterms: Liberalism is on Trial

Last night Charles Krauthammer made an appearance on Fox News' The Kelly File to preview today's midterm elections. During the segment, Krauthammer argued that this isn't just an election about rejecting Democrats and President Obama's agenda, but a rejection of liberalism as a whole after six years of big government failure and scandal.

"This is a referendum on Obama's hyper liberalism," Krauthammer said. "This is not only the Party in government, this is the party of government."

Krauthammer predicted we'll know who controls the Senate by midnight tonight and added that Republicans have done well against established and powerful Democrat candidates as a result of running solid campaigns with few mistakes.

"It is of course an election about Obama, his record and his performance, but also I think it shows you a couple of things. One is I think Republicans have run a fairly gaffe free campaign. The gaffes have been on the other side," he added.

Polls start closing at 7 p.m. eastern. Be sure to check back at Townhall.com for full election coverage and results.
