Obama on Sandy: At This Point, All Preparation Needs Have Been Met

President Obama just wrapped up a quick briefing from the White House about Hurricane Sandy. Obama said he has been in regular contact with governors of states effected by the storm and that all preparation needs have been met. He stressed the importance of evacuation orders being followed, warning those who stay that they put the safety of rescue crews at risk.

""When they tell you evacuate, you need to evacuate," Obama said. "This is a serious storm and it can potentially have fatal consequences if people don't act quickly."

Obama detailed high levels of cooperation between local, state and federal officials and warned residents up and down the East Coast that damage from the storm will be massive. He also said clean up crews won't be able to get in, access damage or clean up until high winds die down, which could come as late as Wednesday morning.
