President Trump Announces Two New Executive Orders on Trade

President Donald Trump announced the signing of two major executive orders on Friday, each aimed at cracking down on trade abuses that countries around the world use against the United States.

The first order is a set of punishments designed to discipline countries who do not comply with international trade rules.  The second will commissions a comprehensive review of America's trade deficits and pinpoint the exact areas where the U.S. economy is being "cheated," President Trump said.

"We're here to do a job," he said, referring to his economic policy staff.

"If anyone had any doubt about the president's resolve to fix the trade problems, these two executive orders should end that speculation now and for all time," Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said.

The competitive talk comes just days before President Trump meets with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Florida to discuss trade relations.
