Toyota received it's first warning shot from President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday, warning the car manufacture of plans to build a massive plant in Baja, Mexico.
Toyota Motor said will build a new plant in Baja, Mexico, to build Corolla cars for U.S. NO WAY! Build plant in U.S. or pay big border tax.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 5, 2017
Within minutes of the message being released, the Toyota's shares dropped in the afternoon trade market.
Earlier tin the week, Trump issued the same ultimatum to General Motors.
And after pressuring Ford Motor Company to abandon plants in Mexico, Ford announced it was canceling its plans to build Mexican plant and instead invest $700 million in Michigan along with 700 new U.S. jobs on Tuesday.
