My original stomping ground, the St. Petersburg Times, conducted a poll with the Miami Herald and Bay News 9, and found that Charlie Crist leads Marco Rubio by 3 points — a 30-27 point split. That's within the 4-point margin of error. Democrat Kendrick Meek is at 15%.
From the Miami Herald:
For a governor leading one of the country's most economically ravaged states and who only a few weeks ago faced near-certain defeat against Rubio in the Aug. 24 GOP primary, Crist remains remarkably well-liked.
