Video: Must-See Takedown of Obama's Record

I'm a little late in getting to this, but it's too good not to bring to your attention.  Step 1: If you aren't aware of either Mystery Science Theater 3000 or VH1's Pop-Up Video, follow the links and briefly familiarize youself.  Step 2: Watch and enjoy this slick but ruthless destruction of the risible Obama campaign agitprop "documentary," The Road We've Traveled:

You're killing me, Tom Hanks.  Besides that little disappointment, the clip above is a very handy tool to pass along to the low-information independent voter in your life.  As hypocrisies, shattered promises and outright failures pile up, Republicans are springing into action.  The Romney campaign's latest:

Ouch.  Why lead with the GSA scandal?  Because even many Democrats are becoming embittered by big government's excesses, including the First Family's numerous lavish vacations.  No wonder the Obama campaign is focusing on raising as much cash as humanly possible and obnoxiously chest-thumping about the bin Laden raid.  Big-dollar negative attacks are all they've got, and the Osama stuff at least gives them something to feel proud about -- even if it turns off the actual military heroes who deserve the most credit:

Serving and former US Navy SEALs have slammed President Barack Obama for taking the credit for killing Osama bin Laden and accused him of using Special Forces operators as ‘ammunition’ for his re-election campaign. A serving SEAL Team member said: ‘Obama wasn’t in the field, at risk, carrying a gun. As president, at every turn he should be thanking the guys who put their lives on the line to do this. He does so in his official speeches because he speechwriters are smart.‘But the more he tries to take the credit for it, the more the ground operators are saying, “Come on, man!” It really didn’t matter who was president. At the end of the day, they were going to go.’ Chris Kyle, a former SEAL sniper with 160 confirmed and another 95 unconfirmed kills to his credit, said: ‘The operation itself was great and the nation felt immense pride. It was great that we did it. ‘But bin Laden was just a figurehead. The war on terror continues. Taking him out didn’t really change anything as far as the war on terror is concerned and using it as a political attack is a cheap shot.'

I'll leave you with a good news/bad news dichotomy.  Good news: Gallup's tracking rollercoaster has Romney back ahead by a hair.  Whee!  Bad news: The Republican path to victory in the all-important electoral college is looking a bit narrow.
