Sotomayor Agrees That 'Wise Latina' Comment Would Have Been Career-Ending For A White Man

The video clip begins with Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) failing (read pretending to fail) to find the "wise Latina" quote. While shuffling through papers he asks Sotomayor if she could recite the quote for him. Stumped and surprised, she looks to her fellow liberals for an answer or some help, but to no avail. Fortunately, she remains silent until Graham claims to have found the quote. A classic moment of who will be the first to blink. After this, Lindsey Graham provides a sobering view of Sotomayor's "wise Latina" comment. You can hear a pin drop.
