George Soros' money ties to media outlets worldwide enable him to influence the most important audience of all: journalists. What does he hope to gain by it?


From the Media Research Center's in-depth report by Dan Gainor and Iris Somberg "Controlling the Media: George Soros" in the August issue of Townhall Magazine:

"Media outlets that get direct Open Society cash reach more than 330 million people each month. And that's really just scratching the surface. That number counts some of the well-known recipients of King George's largesse--NPR, for exaple--and lesser knowns like Project Syndicate and Public News Service. ...

Soros funds at least 180 media-related organizations -- from groups dedicated to to getting government funding for journalsim to tiny blogs and hard-Left media outlets. These are operations that promote pretty much everything conservatives love to hate: abortion, drugs, the gay agenda, illegal immigration, unions, nationalized health care, getting rid of the dollar as the reserve currency and attacks on conservative Supreme Court justices. Throw in an anti-Israel and anti-American theme, and Soros groups have something for everyone on the Right to dislike.

But some of his biggest influence is with the mainstream press. ... "
