The Nielsen Media Research numbers are out and it is smiles all around for Fox News. For 69 consecutive quarters, Fox has been the most-watched cable news network in both daytime and primetime.
As The Washington Times notes, that means Fox has been top dog for 17 years and three months.
Fox News anchors commended their colleagues on the stats.

In the coveted primetime 25-54 demo, FNC boasts 44 consecutive quarters as the top-rated cable news channel. The network has taken advantage of the year's top stories, repeatedly coming in first the past few weeks in their reporting on special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation conclusions.
Here's how the day looked on Thursday, March 26:
Primetime
FNC: 3,341,000 in P2+ (585,000 in 25-54)
CNN: 798,000 in P2+ (220,000 in 25-54)
MSNBC: 1,824,000 in P2+ (271,000 in 25-54)
Total Day
FNC: 1,808,000 in P2+ (332,000 in 25-54)
CNN: 553,000 in P2+ (157,000 in 25-54)
MSNBC: 950,000 in P2+ (150,000 in 25-54)
Staying in March for a moment, it's worth noting that Fox News host Sean Hannity came in first with 3.1 million viewers. Second was “Tucker Carlson Tonight” with 3 million, third was “The Rachel Maddow Show “ with 2.8 million, fourth was “The Five” with 2.53 million, and fifth was “The Ingraham Angle” with 2.51 million.

Compared to last year, Fox's primetime ratings are up 11 percent. It's a much different story over at CNN. Their daytime audience fell by 11 percent. Another competitor, MSNBC, fell by three percent.
If you ask Brian Stelter for an explanation as to why CNN is consistently pacing behind Fox, he'll tell you there just hasn't been much else to report on besides Mueller. We would respond by mentioning the names William Barr, Jussie Smollett, and Michael Avenatti, and throw in Obamacare and border wall funding for good measure.
