Steve Bannon Resurrects Ivanka's 'Special Place in Hell' Comment

Former White House Chief Strategist Stephen Bannon has been busy campaigning for Roy Moore in the late stages of the Alabama Senate race. In doing so, he's taken swipes at establishment Republicans for refusing to support the Republican and even donating to his opponent Doug Jones. Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ), one of many Republican leaders unable to support Moore in light of his sexual assault allegations, gifted a $100 check to Jones and bragged about it on Twitter.

"C'mon brother, if you're going to write a check, write a check," Bannon said at a Moore rally, calling Flake a "total embarrassment."

Bannon shared that same sentiment Monday night.

“There’s a special place in hell for Republicans who should know better," he said at a rally in Midland City, AL.

There was no subtlety in it. He was clearly taking a swipe at Ivanka Trump's siding with Moore's accusers. When asked about the scandal last month, the First Daughter replied, “There’s a special place in hell for people who prey on children.”

It's strange Bannon is resurrecting Ivanka's month-old comment, considering her dad is now all in for Roy Moore. Not only did he endorse him at a campaign rally last week, but he is recording robocalls on the Republican's behalf. On Tuesday morning, he reminded Alabamans why Moore is the safer choice.

Eight women have accused Moore of sexual misconduct, some claiming he took advantage of them when they were just teenagers and he was in his 30s. Moore rejects those reports.

Former President Obama and Vice President Biden have thrown in their support for Doug Jones. Meanwhile, former NBA player Charles Barkley, who was born in Leeds, is asking his fellow Alabamans to prove to the rest of the country they're not "idiots" and vote Jones.
