Watch: Sen. Warren Refuses to Shake Betsy DeVos' Hand

Education Secretary nominee Betsy DeVos faced some difficult questions on Tuesday at her confirmation hearing. The senators were especially interested in her hopes of expanding charter schools and school vouchers, putting more power into the hands of parents and out of the hands of the government. At one point, Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT) tangled with her over the potential for free college.

Despite the heated discussion, the panel thanked her after the event and cordially shook hands with her at the hearing's conclusion. Well, almost everyone. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) refused to reciprocate DeVos' handshake, instead waving her hand and quickly hurrying out of the room. Her rude act was caught on camera.

Mutual respect is apparently foreign to Ms. Warren.

As if "talking to the hand" wasn't enough, Warren also questioned DeVos' qualifications, noting her lack of experience with student loans and public education in general.

"I don't see how she can be the Secretary of Education," Warren said.
