RNC Chief of Staff Sara Armstrong has resigned to take a position with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, POLITICO is reporting. She's the sixth person to leave the RNC within the last month.
Armstrong served as Chief of Staff since late January. Prior to her role at the RNC, Armstrong was the Chief Executive Officer of the 58th Presidential Inaugural Committee and was VP of the 2016 Republican National Convention. During her time at the RNC, she oversaw a large growth in the number of staffers at the headquarters, and the RNC has enjoyed record fundraising totals.
On Twitter, her former colleagues wished her the best.
I think the world of Sara Armstrong. Sad to see her go but excited for what is next for her. https://t.co/rWj9zzga1d— Chris Hansen (@tankcat) August 31, 2017
