Here's What Tim Kaine's Lapel Pin Means

During Tuesday's vice presidential debate, many people wondered what was up with Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA)'s choice of lapel pin.

Answer: It's not the Honduran flag, or the ISIS flag, or the North Korean flag, which was speculated by a few people. It's a Blue Star Families pin, worn to honor his son, who is serving in the military overseas. The pin itself is a blue star on a white field. Kaine has worn the pin on multiple occasions throughout the campaign.
