Friday Fun: Meet Alexander Camelton

Friday Fun: Meet Alexander Camelton

Alexander Hamilton has had quite the year. From being almost yanked off of the $10 bill in June 2015, only to be saved after a sudden surge of popularity following a Broadway musical about his life debuted to rave reviews, to now this: a baby camel in Chicago has been dubbed "Alexander Camelton" in his honor.

Alexander Camelton, who was born in May, weighs about 80 pounds and is the first baby Bactrian (two-humped) camel to be born at the zoo in 18 years.

Since his birth, Alexander Camelton has been quite the social media darling, in part because baby animals are adorable and also because of the popularity of his namesake.
